Mr Dariush Nikkhah is a fully accredited and Internationally renowned Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. He is a full member of British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), and holds a substantiative NHS Consultant post at the Royal Free Hospital NHS Trust. He specialises in cosmetic breast surgery, microsurgery and hand surgery.
Mr Nikkhah founded the London Microsurgery Group in 2021 which accepts referrals for complex microsurgical reconstructions after cancer and trauma. He is a leading international specialist in reconstructive microsurgery after cancer and trauma. His private practice is located in North London at St John and Elizabeth Hospital and The Royal Free Private Patients unit and HCA hospitals. Mr Nikkhah has a particular interest and is renowned for microsurgical breast reconstruction with the DIEP flap and TUG flap.
Mr Nikkhah received his undergraduate degree in Medicine at the University of Southampton. He completed his registrar training in London at The Royal Free, Barts, Great Ormond St Hospital for Children and Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead. This was followed by a fellowship in Reconstructive Microsurgery at Royal Perth Hospital in Western Australia.
Mr Nikkhah’s research interests include improving outcomes in reconstructive surgery for patients with cancers of the breast, and soft tissue reconstruction of the hand. He is a Honorary Lecturer at University College London and has given national and international lectures on a broad range of topics related to plastic surgery. He has published more than 155 scientific journal articles. He has edited two textbooks on reconstructive surgery with Springer Nature and Thieme. He is on the editorial board for Microsurgery Journal.

From the first moment I met Mr Nikkhah I felt he was completely vested in me and my outcome. He was such a kind, friendly person and made me felt very comfortable in the operation I was about to undertake. He constantly kept in touch making sure I knew everything I needed to know.

Fantastic surgeon. Friendly, explains it all, does the procedure then and there and the job is so perfect and neat. For the lesions on my head other surgeons told me I had to shave my head and they could no remove the smaller ones - Mr Nikkhah did them all with no fuss - I didn’t even have to have my hair shaved and not even in the area of the removal plus the scars are tiny. Amazing job!!!

Mr Nikkah was exceptional from first consultation, he explained my options and I was able to make an informed decision based on this. Each step of the Diep Flap reconstruction was explained in detail and I felt able to face surgery with a clear mind. From the operation to leaving hospital, I saw Mr Nikkah and members from his junior team daily and was kept updated and reassured throughout my stay.

I had some issues with a chest wound after heart surgery. Dr Nikkah came to the rescue and fixed the problem. He is as charming, friendly and caring as he is skilful and he’s very skilful. Couldn’t recommend him enough. Thank you for everything

Dealing with cancer is obviously extremely difficult. Mr Nikkhah has made the experience quite pleasant and has done an absolutely amazing job in terms of reconstruction. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Mr Nikkhah has changed my life. I don't know where to start with this! He is an absolute master of his trade, an incredibly talented surgeon and a genuinely lovely person and a true gentleman. I had an upper lid blepharoplasty on 27th Sept 2023. I had an initial consultation where everything was explained in detail (but in a way I didn't feel overwhelmed by medical terminology). I then arrived at HJE at 8.45am, was taken to theatre at 9am, some local anaesthetic was injected into my lids (a bit stingy but nothing too painful), the procedure started, we chatted all the way through, all completed in an hour, I was home by 12pm. I went to work the next day, I know I probably shouldn't have but all I had was minimal swelling and a little bruising. My full recovery was at about week 3. AMAZING! I've had so many comments about how this procedure has made me look younger, fresher, happier! For the first time in 10 years I was able to start wearing eye shadow and eyeliner. I cannot recommend Mr Nikkhah enough.

I am frequently amazed by the skill and creativity demonstrated in Dariush's reconstructive work - performing complex reconstructive surgery to restore anatomy in ways that one might not even think possible. He is also the author of a highly regarded textbook in his field and on top of that a very pleasant character who has care and empathy for his patients - delighted to recommend him.
