Dr Dipesh Mistry is a Consultant Sleep Physician and Psychiatrist who honed his skills in the Insomnia and Behavioural Sleep Medicine clinic in the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine (NHS). He offers private face to face consultations in the heart of Chelsea Green at Ankha Clinic, 17 Elystan Street, Chelsea, SW3 3NT.
Dr Mistry specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of insomnia, as well as other sleep disorders including restless leg syndrome, sleepwalking (somnambulism), nightmares, night terrors and REM sleep behaviour disorders.
After qualifying from the Royal Free & University College London Medical School, Dr Mistry pursued specialist training in General Adult Psychiatry. Whilst completing his specialist training at the Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust, Dr Mistry gained valuable experience working in a wide range of psychiatric specialties including Liaison (the interface between General Medicine and Psychiatry) Home Treatment Teams and a Complex Depression, Anxiety and Trauma Service.
Dr Mistry is passionate about supporting his patients with optimising their sleep. This is extremely important because suboptimal sleep is known to act as both a trigger, and a perpetuating factor for a range of mental health conditions, in addition to having a detrimental impact on a person's quality of life.
In 2021, Dr Mistry was elected as Honorary Treasurer Elect of the Sleep Medicine Section of the Royal Society of Medicine, where he has served as a Council Member since 2017. Dr Mistry enjoys teaching medical students, and has served as an examiner at University College London Medical School (UCL) since 2012.

I came to Dr Mistry with extremely bad anxiety and felt like I was completely losing control and all quality of life. Dr Mistry suggested going on diazepam which I was initially worried to do as I was so worried about becoming addicted. However, Dr Mistry eased my fears and it was the best decision I could have made. The diazepam brought down my anxiety levels extremely well and out of the terrified state I was in and made me feel normal again. Once it was time to start coming off the diazepam Dr Mistry suggested the amounts to decrease by but left it to me to decide; which reduced my anxiety about coming off it as I felt like I was in control. I came off it slowly but fairly steadily, with plateaus if I needed it. I am now completely off diazepam and I have experienced absolutely no withdrawal effects and no feelings of addiction at all. I am so grateful to Dr Mistry for helping me realise the diazepam was there to help me and I was at no risk of addiction, and for ultimately giving me my life back.

Dr Mistry was an extremely patient and approachable Doctor who took the time and effort to ask guided questions in order to extract the correct information in order to carry out a thorough assessment. I came away from both assessments feeling positive, not drained with a good outlook moving forward.

Dr Mistry is an absolutely fantastic psychiatrist. He has such a warm manner that makes talking about even the most difficult and sensitive things so much easier. I have been seeing Dr Mistry with a medical background which requires a psychiatrist’s expertise with regards to medication. He has been absolutely brilliant throughout this process and with my ongoing treatment, and the quality of care I’ve received is second to none

Dr Mistry has been treating my son for late onset sleep disorder and after a year of v tough times bouncing between GPs and sleep clinics we finally felt heard, understood and offered a long term treatment plan that he has supported us to follow.
