I am a general adult psychiatrist. I completed my undergraduate training in Ireland and my postgraduate training in Leeds. In addition I spent 6 months at the Maudsley Hospital in London during my postgraduate training. I was involved in setting up the Adult Mental Health Services in South Leeds as a young consultant. I was chairman of the Leeds Mental Health Trust Drugs and Therapeutics Committee for five years. My main work is with the Depressive Illneses and Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders (including Phobias and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders.) Psychoses, and assessment of patients with Alcohol Dependence. I work closely with clinical psychologists in West Yorkshire.

My clinics are held in Leeds and Harrogate. I provide a consultation only service. I cannot provide emergency cover so patients would have to contact the local Mental Health Crisis Team in an emergency. However I can usually see patients at short notice. I do not see patients whose primary problem is an eating disorder or a dementing illness.

I write to the general practitioner with a copy of the letter to the patient and any psychologist involved after each consultation. The fees quoted below are are for consultations for treatment. The costs of reports for work or retirement are more because they are more detailed and take longer. Please contact my secretary Genny Twigge for more information. Please note I do not do medico-legal work (reports for the courts) and charge a non-attendance fee if 2 working days notice of cancellation is not given.
