About

Dr Louise Pearson Graduated from The University Of Birmingham in 2003 where she studied Clinical Psychology.

Louise has worked in the field of psychological wellbeing for over 20 years, both in the NHS and private practice. Working in a range of settings, Louise has developed expertise in supporting people a range of mental health difficulties such as anxiety and depression, and also with more complex mental health problems, such as psychosis and personality disorders.

Louise has a specialist interest in working with trauma and is trained to deliver the evidence-based trauma treatment, Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR). Louise's experience and expertise in her field allows her to regularly teach on professional training courses. She also has extensive experience of supervising trainee and qualified psychologists as well as other healthcare professionals including nursing staff and multi-disciplinary teams. Due to her experience in forensic mental health care, Louise has acted as an expert witness in criminal cases, advising the court on issues including risk assessment, personality disorder, mental illness, trauma, and offending behaviour.

Louise is someone I have known for 17 years. She is a wonderful human being as well as a very skilled clinical psychologist. As soon as I knew she was interested in doing some additional work outside the NHS, where she has worked for around 20 years, I made sure it was as part of my company. She brings a wealth of experience in CBT, EMDR, and ACT interventions, and has a special interest in the treatment of trauma. I look forward to a long and fruitful working relationship with her as part of Think Psychology.
