About

Mr Andrew Rogers was born in Newport, Wales where he attended medical school in Cardiff, qualifying as a doctor in 1992. He undertook his orthopaedic training on the welsh rotation and passed his FRCS Orth exam and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2001. He was granted his certificate of completion of specialist training (CCST) in 2002. During his orthopaedic training he became interested in hand surgery and this led to him undergoing two hand surgery fellowships, the first was at the Pulvertaft Hand Centre Derby and the second in the USA was at the world famous Christine M Kleinert Institute of Hand and Microsurgery. Upon returning to the UK he took up an orthopaedic post at the Royal Gwent Hospital Newport where as well as undertaking general orthopaedic treatments he has increasingly sub specialised in hand surgery. He has an extensive NHS practice, seeing and treating over one thousand patients annually for the Aneurin Bevan Healthcare Trust.

Explanation

The procedure required to relieve the pain and discomfort in my arm was a procedure that Mr Rogers had not completed nor had any of his peers in the geographic area. Mr Rogers was honest and upfront, and filled me with confidence in his abilities. Mr Rogers took the time to ensure. I understood the diagnosis and procedure that was required. During the procedure itself, Mr Rogers put me at complete ease with his bedside manner and communication, taking the time to answer my questions and provide further explanation as necessary. The procedure completed provided immediate relief, and I am very pleased with the overall outcome. I had no reservations in Mr Rogers throughout the several interactions with Mr Rogers and would highly recommend anyone to utilise his skillset if required.

Explanation

He was very professional but I felt at ease with him. He explained what to expect and explained what may happen but if it doesn’t also do not worry. Little detail like that puts your mind at rest. The operation was very quick and easy and the results were pretty much instant. No numbness or tingling hand since.

Being a very nervous patient my anxiety level was quite high. Andrew put my mind at ease straight away with his very friendly manner. He explained the process very clearly and answered my questions in layman’s terms so I could understand. During the procedure he continued to put my mind at rest and gave continual reassurance. The operations have been a total success and I would recommend Andrew without any reservation whatsoever.
