Explanation

Charlie is very experienced, honest about what can be done and a gifted surgeon. I had suffered a double break to the collar bone. It was very painful and I couldn’t do anything for myself. Charlie inserted a plate and 9 pins in total, enabling me to live independently and drive in a matter of weeks. In my case, the metalwork was near the surface of the skin and uncomfortable to wear a strap over it. A year later, Charlie removed all of the metalwork and delicately reduced the scar tissue. Now I am back to normal! I am hugely grateful for Charlie’s skill in performing these operations and the care he took. After each operation, I only needed any painkillers for 2 or 3 days post op. Brilliant having access to this top level of care and on the doorstep in Yorkshire.

Explanation

Following a hit and run bike incident where I sustained a badly fractured Scapula, I asked for a recommendation from friend who is a Professor of Sports Medicine as well as an eminent Consultant Surgeon. He was unequivocal in his recommendation of Charlie. Michelle, Charlie's practice manager managed to get me a Consultation the same day when Charlie reviewed the injury and set out the options. Charlie inspired confidence with a charming but clearly expert manner and agreed to operate the following week to insert a Titanium plate to stabilise the break. The operation took place at the Duchy Hospital in Harrogate where every aspect of the care was exceptional. I had a number of follow up consultations and nothing was too much trouble for Charlie as I worked on my rehabilitation. I could not recommend Charlie highly enough, and one way or another I have come across more than my fair share of Surgeons!!! It would be remiss not to mention Michelle who is outstanding and was central in making the whole experience so good. Thanks to both

From the first appointment Mr Talbot explained the issue with my shoulder, described what surgery was needed to repair it without medical jargon. He was reassuring, straight to the point and made me feel confident about the outcome. His manner during each appointment was the same. Friendly and reassuring.
