Explanation

From the Moment I met Prof Patel at our first consultation, I knew I was in excellent hands. He explained the surgery that I required (whipple) in great detail and answered the questions that myself and my Wife had with great care and compassion and really made me feel a lot happier and comfortable as to what I should expect over the coming months. In hospital, the Prof once again demonstrated to me his passion for, just being one of the best at what he does. Everytime he came to see how I was progressing, still in hospital, post op, he listen intently to how I was feeling, not just physically but mentally as well and showed me so much compassion, love and care, even on Christmas morning the Prof came in to see how I was doing, he didn't need to, when many had finished work for the holiday. I am recovering really well and have huge admiration respect and gratitude to Professor Ameet Patel, I thank you and all your team. Paul D

Having failed to navigate the NHS system,I saw Professor Patel on a private basis to deal with an infection near my liver. To finally find a surgeon who could competently explain what as needed, and to be available around my travel schedule, was irreplaceable.I felt completely confident in his abilities as a surgeon. He visited me regularly following the procedure with regular follow ups thereafter.I owe my full recovery to Professor Patel, who is one of the kindest professionals around.

Heading for emergency evening surgery, Professor A G Patel fully explained the procedure and gave me confidence in his ability to resolve the problem. He has a calm efficient manner which put me at ease and was happy to answer any questions about the procedure. Even followed up at 6am the next morning with a quick ward visit to check how I was doing and confirm the procedure went well before heading to another hospital. Great service, would recommend Professor Patel.

Explanation

Prof Ameet is one the most patient, clear and supportive of Doctors I have met. He took a lot of time to walk through my history and symptoms and even though he had likely formed a diagnosis from his initial examination and clinical analysis, he was very open to carrying out any tests I wanted for further verification of this diagnosis. Even though he was travelling he remained available over the next few weeks to discuss treatment options and plan online. While my travel schedule was unable to fit in the surgery he had scheduled at very short notice, this is now schduled for next month. In addition to his professionalism and rich experience, what has been reassuring at all times is that I have felt this to be a collaborative relationship between doctor - patient where my treatment comes first.

I was very happy with my surgery with Prof Patel. My scars are minimal and his advice about the length of resting time after the procedure was very sensible and made a huge difference to my recovery. He was available by whatsapp if I needed to speak to him. His manner was respectful and unpatronising towards me, this was very reassuring.

Explanation

I could not recommend professor Patel strong enough. In my case I needed my gallbladder to be removed. Aisha, his secretary, was very polite, professional, attentive and very nice and was able to book an appointment the very same day. Professor Patel was very thorough in his explanation of the situation and what steps were going to happen next, the potential outcomes and what solutions or actions will take place if the situation would turn that way, which was comforting. I had the surgery in King Edward VII hospital and felt the overall treatment and experience was comforting and very professional. Almost 3 weeks after the surgery I'm feeling better every day, I barely have marks because of the surgery and I am certain that the surgery was performed properly and no stones were left in any duct. I contacted the professor and Aisha for very minor issues after surgery and their response was immediate and kind. I highly recommend professor Patel as a surgeon and a doctor. He also has an excellent secretary.
